European Day of Languages 2023
Edukultura embraced the spirit of linguistic diversity as they marked the European Day of Languages on 29th September 2023. The EU Day of Languages was established in 2001 to spread awareness of language diversity in modern Europe. With approximately 6,000 languages spoken worldwide and a rich tapestry of 70 languages within the European Union, this celebration was an ode to the power of communication.
The day started with an engaging workshop, where students delved into the fascinating world of EU languages. They explored the reasons why English became the dominant language in education and business, exploring its global reach and impact. In their quest to uncover the most effective methods for mastering English, students shared their insights and experiences, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. The day’s highlight was an exciting quiz that tested their knowledge of EU languages. The participants exhibited their expertise, showcasing their commitment to linguistic diversity. The workshop was implemented by the educational association Edukultura and Mary Poppins Language School, designed to empower elementary school students to learn foreign languages.
